
Sandra Marino born in Port Jefferson, New York , has been drawing and painting since childhood. Trained in Philadelphia, she studied with Richard Cramer, Stanely Whitney, and Susan Moore at the Tyler School of Art earning her BFA in 2001.
Marino works primarily in the medium of oil. Her subject matter is predominantly figures. She has shown her work in various individual and group exhibitions throughout the United States.
The techniques of Francis Bacon, Giacometti, and Dubuffet have interested her; she is influenced by their methods of strong, gestural brushwork and aggressive color. "Color and light has always been a strong interest and the exploration of new color and paint application continues to evolve in my work."
Marino currently is a featured artist at Arts @ 510 in Harrisburg, PA. She also shows her work at the Inner Banks Artisan Center in Washington, NC.
She has pieces on collection at Tyler School of Art - Temple University and was recently commissioned by John Ortenzio of Select Capital to do a series of pieces for Commerce Towers lobby at 2nd and Pine Streets Harrisburg, PA.
